Tom VanHorn from Coastal Angler Magazine called me this week and asked if I wanted to go Barramundi Fishing and do a photo shoot for the Mag..

I said yes and made planes on meeting up for the adventure.

The article was to give incite on the ranch and it's operations. To show the way it runs and most of all... the GREAT fishing.

The guide met us at the gate and showed us where to go, it was a long dirt road that emptied into a set of pounds where the fish are held. The guide made sure we had all the needed accessories... ie, Rods, Reels and baits. Not to mention and ton of Ice and Waters as well. I was very impressed with the set up so far and really looked for ward to the adventure and experience that awaited.

It was only a few minutes to decide on the lures... Tom picked out a Rapala twitch bait and made a first cast. Low and behold it was fish on !

Wow was I impressed and could not believe that it was just that fast and easy. If this was an indication of the days events then I must say we where in for a good day.

We had a crew made up of Tom , Mark Blithe of the Orlando Sentinel, Ron Presley who was to write the story and Charlie Conner... Toms salesman.

I do believe that Mark caught the most fish

Here he is with the guide getting a release assist.

Ron caught a few as well as did his Grandson, here they are releasing a catch

And lastly here is where the guide tosses the fish feed into the water and it turns the fish on hard core where all you do is flick out your bait and fish on big time !!!

The experience was something to behold and a real treat to be able to catch a fish from Australia in the back roads of St. Cloud. If you haven't had a chance to do this it is a must do for Orlando.
